PCM 2.1 update
PCM 2.1 update
Hello,
I bought the Climarepair Navi update however I am having trouble. I bought both the new Navi disk & firmware update. I have followed the instructions provided and I am working w/ John from Climarepair but it still isn't working. Please advise if you have any thoughts or anything thing else that I might try.

Did you ever get thisv figured out with climatepair? My FW cds are not working, the are unreadable, they were copies so i think that's the problem, plusc there are 3 FW disks, when most ive read only day there are 2 cds. The 2015 maps disk i got from them does work, but i get the "incompatible nav softwate" cause i am still at level A since the cds didnt work.

John replies to me sometimes weeks after I email him. To answer your question no I still have had no luck updating mine. I played all of his reindeer games however no luck. I bought the updated Navi disk then he said that I have to buy the firmware. I did that with no luck. When he does respond he typically reiterates what my question is then I retry w/ no luck. I also bought the climate switches however never installed them, there seems to be some dissatisfaction with the quality of the switches.
Sounds like the same crap games he is playing with me, perhaps we need to spread the word about John Cobra and climarepairs poor customer service and products.
Fortunately for me, the 2015 Nav disk still works, even without the firmware update, since when I bought my Cayenne, the disk was missing, so I had not nav at all. Mine works, but every time I hit the NAV buttom, at the grey banner at the bottom of the screen, I get the "incompatible nav software". Thats the only issue so far, but I am out $49.99 for the FW software that is bogus.
I should have know when I asked him prior to buying the FW and NAV disk, if they were genuine Porsche and he never asnwered.
The NAV disk appears to be genuine, and of course it works, but the FW disks are obvious copies, and 3 disk as opposed to 2 like I have read come with the Porsche package.
I would keep trying things, may put them in the DVD instead of the head unit, as I recall reading this somewhere, but I dont want to brick my PCM, as I have heard is possible if you do this upgrade wrong.
Looks like I lost $50 because John wont even respond to my wish to return and get reimbursed for the disks.
Dealer looks to be the only solution at this point, unless some kind forum member could send both of us their FW disks or send us copies.
