I'd be worried about a metal vac anywhere near my car possibly hitting it and chipping paint etc.

Understood but it isn't a concern at all with a 6-ft hose. And, the profile of the vacuum is low (height wise) enough that it isn't going to be banging against your doors or anything like that IME.

I use a cheap($79.00) black and decker Flex vacuum. has a small hose and a rechargeable battery and a few attachments. Still going strong after 5-6 years.

I go the Metro Vac & Blo and just used it for the first time for vacuuming and a blow dry after washing. I'm a believer now.

Try to get it on sale - Autogeek runs 20-25% no restrictions sales a couple times a year. Buy extra filters at the same time.
