I have seen the 'moisture' within the left taillight light assembly for a few years now. The left taillight stopped functioning recently; illuminated but the turn signal & flasher ceased. I removed the light assembly this morning; +30 oz. of water drained out. After carefully removing the backplate I could further dry the interior portion and the flasher began to function though not consistently.
Further drying with a hairdryer has resolved that problem. The seal where the clear lens meets the red portion appears to be the source of water entry. I have posted the interior view since I hadn't seen an image showing all of the stuff working in there. I still can't get approx. 40% of the outer LED's to illuminate. Any suggestions ?
Have any other 997.2 owners found this issue ? Mine is a 2009 c4s :-) 35k on the clock.
I think you're going to need to buy a new left 997.2 taillight. Like water entry into a smartphone, once some of those electrics get wet, you can't bring them back. You might try sealing it in a plastic bag with some dessicant packets that will absorb any remaining moisture out of the components. If you don't have access to dessicant packets, rice (the kind you eat) will do a similar thing, jut not as quickly
Apparently, because of the moisture, now you've damaged your headlights, and you need to buy a new LED light for your car. Considering the price of LED lights today, I don't think you will spend a lot of money on them, and I advise you to buy LED headlights from VONT. I learned about them from Amazon and bought LED Light only from this company because their products are cheap but very high quality. I recently ordered a smart bulb from Amazon for my room. As far as I understand, if you use an LED smart bulb, you can configure any light you need using the software.
