buying 997.2 from dealer

I've been searching for a 997 for awhile now and finally came across one that checks a lot of boxes. It's out of state at a Porsche Dealer and it's certified. Do have the same dealer do a PPI or can I go off the the CPO inspection report? The certified warranty gives me piece of mind for mechanical issues in the future but I'm worried about any prior damages or repainting that wouldn't be reported on carfax.

Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated. Been searching for awhile now and hoping this could be the ONE!

I would do a ppi with a different dealer or good independent for your reasons and many more. It will either be worth it if they find something or to give you better peace of mind.

You have to put a price on peace of mind yourself - if it'll make you feel at ease, and you can afford it, why not? Setup an independent PPI and have them focus on the things you mentioned.

I personally bought mine CPO sight unseen from a Porsche dealer in Texas (out of state) and decided that the PPI was unnecessary due to the CPO warranty backed by Porsche.

This.
I also purchased a CPO 997.2 from Champion 2.5 years ago.
I felt that if it was backed by the CPO warranty, no need for a PPI.
So far 2.5 years and no issues at all.

I bought a 2005 a few years back that still had CPO warranty left on it, bought from a private owner, didn't even do a ppi..CPO is pretty solid. Go see the car drive it, feel it out and just buy it if its good, you really don't need a ppi if its a CPO specially buying from the dealer.
