Question PLEASE HELP! Problems installing 200 Cell Cat cross over pipes

Hello all,

I bought a set of 200 cell cat crossover pipes off eBay (the guy who sold them to me told me that they were the ones from the group buy from topgear on the Rennlist formum).

Anyways, I got to installing them only to discover that my post cat O2 sensors wires are too short and won't reach the hole that they screw into.

Am I missing something here?

Perhaps I am doing something wrong and skipping a step?

Do I cut the wires on the O2 sensors and extend them?

(My car is a '06 997.1 C4)

Do not cut the wires. However you put them back together could add just enough resistance to throw off your O2 sensor readings, resulting in a CEL.

Have you removed the wires from their routing clips to see if there's a more direct way to get them from the plug to the welded bung on the new exhaust. You want to take them loose anyway to prevent from twisting the wires when removing them from the old exhaust and installing then in the new exhaust.

I was part of that group buy but backed out due to early comments on fitment of the pipes. Did they mate up OK?
I did hear of several guys who swapped O2 sensors due to unequal wire length between them. Something like bank 1 sensor wire is longer than needed, back 2 sensor wire is shorter than needed. So unhook and swap them. Apparently they are the same type sensor but with different length wires.

Just a consideration.

Did you try this or find another solution? How did things work out for you?
