IPE Innotech Performance Exhaust Sys.
#16
Just a quick update: I finally found some time to start this project. Once the exhaust system is out I plan on replacing the coil packs and plugs also giving the car an oil change. I've attached a few photos to show you guys where I'm at currently in this project. By this weekend I would like to have the exhaust system dropped and start the maintenance part of this project. Will keep you posted. Side note I'm actually surprised at how easy the tear down on the 997.2s really are.

Thank you for pointing this out, I did plan on topping fluids off.

Passenger side plugs and coil packs complete, would like to finish driver side Saturday night. And maybe take Sunday off before my week starts all over again. Tore one of the wraps that the wires inside of on the O2 sensor, so I went ahead and ordered new ones and manifold bolts. Should be here Friday,so while I'm waiting on the order need to do oil change and top off the fluids. Also need to repair front spoiler and remount. And pull program off ECU and get that emailed out.

Drivers side plugs and coil packs complete, Oil change also done. Friday is showing delivery date for the sensors/manifold bolts. So Friday night I'll be starting installation of exhaust, if package shows up. Also need to order 2 new heat shields , both have rusted up tabs and 1 of the tabs is rusted through.

Quick update: pulled factory tune and emailed it off also my O2 sensors with manifold bolts showed up alittle early...today. But i cant start install quite yet because im waiting on the 2 heat shields (in the photos) that have the rusted tabs on them. One of the 2 was completely rusted off and the other close enough to justify ordering the pair so now im at idle til those come in.

WOW so my heat shields came in 2 days early, And you have to remove them for the IPE Exhaust sys. anyways. So i never really needed them i guess unless i go back stock. There is $400 well spent, dust collectors yep that is about all they are worth now. Ok so i Started to install the exhaust sys. Starting with the manifolds and new bolts/gaskets. Big differance between the 2 manifolds. The OEM were extremely easy to access all bolts where the IPE not so much. Also ran the 4 new O2 sensors. Hopefully tomorrow i have the energy to finish the exhaust then Friday install the tune. Finishing topping off fluids and while on the stands finish the front spoiler. Really looking forward to firing it up and hitting some high revs....Man my neighbors arent going to like this car now.
Oh a quick FYI i wont be installing the vacuum lines or the electrical for throttle Auto option. Personal preference i dont want the option of open and closing the valves. I want them open all the time.

I hate to say it but vehicle is back together now I've driven on the new exhaust about 1.5 hrs btw sounds awesome. I'm so glad I chose IPE Innotechs performance exhaust. As far as causing codes my VR Tune compensates for the cat delete.
I'll be posting the photos later on tonight , enjoying the new exhaust.

Like i stated in the previous comment the car is some what complete. Still need to reinstall the front spoiler but i couldnt wait any longer so i dropped the car and took off for a 3 hr. drive and with no fault codes upon my return home. As far as my VR Tune i like it. In normal mode driving you can feel the extra power but sport mode the throttle response and torque seems to feel the same. Maybe the xtra power is there but it just feels like sport mode to me. Extremely happy with the exhaust sys. , and wow does it scream at 6-7k rpm.
