Horn wont stop for long duration if pushed.
Horn wont stop for long duration if pushed.
i have a 2011 997 C2S. i cant remember that last time ive used the horn. went today to press it and after i pressed it it bascially was stuck pushed in and blaring the horn for maybe 7 seconds then stopped. i did ita few more times and the same thing happened. any ideas? i was thinking since perhaps i never really use it maybe it for some reason would get stuck when pushed in? but it didnt really get better the more i did it.
what would happen if i push it in and it will not stop blasting?

I don't think it's a lack of use thing. It could be a sticking horn relay and I'd probably start there since it's the easiest. Look up with wiring diagram and see if that relay is the same as another one - if so swap it and try the horn. If it behaves properly, you just need a new relay.
If not, the horn contactors are built into the steering wheel assembly and it sounds like maybe you have a contact out of position or a spring that's not working right to disengage it properly, and it's happening more eventually. Disconnect the battery (don't latch the frunk !) then find the YouTube video where a guy walks you through the steering wheel removal and replacement on a Boxster and it will show you how to remove the Airbag assembly from the center of the wheel - two access ports in the back side where you have to release some spring clips, then it will essentially pop out. Once you have the airbag off, take a look behind and the wiring to see if a wire is pinched, cut, etc and see what you see.
Good luck.
