2nd Rear LED Fog light

I’ve recently bought a 997 Gen2 C4S (2010) which comes with only one rear fog light (UK/EU regulation) but would like to fit one on the passenger (near side) too.
is it a case of needing a complete new unit and is the looming present?

The rear fog light should only illuminate on the driver's side, not on both sides, which is why your car is working the way it is. This is so in reduced visibility conditions when a rear fog light would actually be used, that drivers behind you know on which side to pass if they can only see the 1 brighter light. You won't be able to make the passenger side light turn on unless you run a wire from the drivers side loom to the passenger side loom.

Petza,
thanks for your reply and I am fully aware of what the intent is. Unfortunately being an ex-biker the rationale doesn't stack if you are in the middle lane on a three lane motorway people 'could' mistake you for a bike and still try to undercut you. Something I've personally experienced.

I was more after information as to if the unit has the lights/LEDs in place if I were to run a cable or if I needed to get hold of another unit (LHD version) to allow me to active it, and if the fitted loom would support a second light or would I definitely need to run another cable.

The wiring and bulb socket are there but the bulb control module won't send power to it - you'll need to run a jumper wire from the left side rear fog light to the positive wire of the right side rear fog light in order to have both come on together. The ground to that socket should already be connected.
