My speedshifter gives off a gluncking sound when I shift into second as though its hitting metal. I also have trouble at times shifting into first.

Are there others who have the same problems and is there a fix?

 

Take it to the dealer - they can adjust the shift linkage and maybe check the synchro cones if that doesn't work. As the clutch on the S is self adjusting you can probably rule that out as a problem.

 

Are you talking about the sport shifter? It has a history of being a tad sticky going into first gear. Mine can be when the car is not warmed up. The rest of the gear changes are very smooth. I'd suspect you just need an adjustment. Good luck!
