Red face Wheel Sizes

I have looked but can't find, maybe someone can direct me. I am looking for something that tells me what size wheels (besides the ones on it) fit on my 997.2 or any other Porsche for that matter. I see posts selling wheels and the same question comes up "Do those wheels fit a ______" (Fill the blank with a Porsche model). This would be a great "sticky" for this page. Can anybody help? I found the "Width Offset Calculator" chart but it does not answer my question.

Thank You all in advance!

I suggest you do a search as this topic has been discussed many times over the years. There might even still be some stickies out there. Porsche suspension geometry is set up for a specific wheel width, diameter and offset. Deviation from any of those oem parameters will require re-alignment at a minimum. Some owners prefer the “look” of larger wheels or the use of spacers without much consideration of how this affects handling or tire wear. You can’t go wrong sticking with stock tire width and diameter, oem wheel diameter, width and offset. If they are lighter than oem there is a benefit of less unstrung weight. Do a search. There are many postings by members of what combinations work for different models.

For a Narrow Body car (Carrera, Carrera S, GT3) it's really hard to beat the GT3 fitment. The front offsets can come out to et 50 instead of 53, but the rear offsets with the 12" wide rear wheel is really good and let's you run anywhere from a 305-325 rear tire.

General specs are a 5x130 bolt patterns with a 71.6mm center bore. All Porsches except the 914-4 and the Macan use this. The Macan uses an Audi pattern of 5x112.

Thank you! This is great information. I like the GT3 and Cayman GT4 wheels and am hoping to get a similar looking aftermarket set. I don't think Cayman wheels will fit the 997.2, but if a set of 997.2 GT3 wheels show up (like it happened a couple of days ago) I want to know if they are a viable option.

BTW, thank you for taking the time to read and answer. I understand I am a newbie in Porsche matters but am a fast learner and appreciate fellow "porschephiles" sharing their knowledge.

Very respectfully,
