997.1 gt3 knocking noise especially when warm
I can't export it to where I am, that's why it's in storage. But I like it too much to sell. So holding onto it, with uncertain prospect. It's still great fun to take it out for a short blast in the countryside every couple of months!
Heres another video. Driving slow on a pretty flat straight road. The sound turns up after 30-60 minutes drive.
The sound does not get any worse on dumps or when dampers are more compressed.
Have lubricated swaybar bushings and top mounts with no result.
I spoke to bilstein rebuild service in UK and they can rebuild the dampers. And they said this is a common problem and maybe my problem according to what I told them.
What do you think?

Sounds to be the same as what I have. This post here (link to post on 6speedonline.com) clearly refers to the same issue, with the member listing what he has done so far. In his case, it seems that the solution is elusive. My 2 cents of experience is that Porsche weren't able to do anything about it (but took some money for fun anyways), so if you are keen is best to deal with an independent. Do keep me posted, I am really keen to get to the bottom of this one day.

Thanks for info! I will start troubleshooting the droplinks because its a cheap one. Many people on different forums and independent porsche specialist say topmounts, dampers or droplinks according to my last video
I have the exact same noise on my GT3 997.1. Front right, passenger sider. Noise is coming when the car is warm and can be heard in low speeds. Car is handling perfect and everything is looking good. Some days it's louder, some days it's not there at all. My Porsche dealer here in Sweden have changed (under used car warranty) the top mounts, bushings, and wheel bearing but with no improvement. Next thing is probably to change or rebuild the damper.
Has anyone solved this noise issue?

Bumping this because my 997.1 GT3 started exhibiting the same sound under the same conditions. It's been doing it for a while now but just to show how odd it is, I took an 15-18 minute drive, mostly highway to go pick something up. At my stop I heard nothing, even when trying to creep slowly to see if I could hear the sound. Drove the same route/time back and by the time I returned home... it was loud again and easily reproduced. I had the bushings looked at generally by a shop not too long ago before shortly after I bought the car and well before the sound developed and nothing looked out of the ordinary so I'm doubting its sway bar bushings or other components.

t would be very helpful to put the shock absorbers on a dyno and run a proper test. One test can save you a lot of time, guesswork, and unnecessary parts replacement.
Even if everything looks fine visually, internal issues (like valve problems, gas pressure loss, or irregular damping behavior) can only be seen on a test bench. Especially when the noise appears only after driving and changes with temperature, that’s often a sign of something happening inside the damper.
So instead of chasing bushings and other components, I’d strongly recommend testing the shocks first
