Pulsing sound after belt change
Pulsing sound after belt change
Hey guys,
Just spent the last few weeks replacing my water pump, thermostat, serpentine belt, plugs, and coils (and drilling out a snapped header bolt!). At the same time I installed Soul headers and 200 cel cats, and the IPD plenum with GT3 throttle body.
Finally got everything put back together today, the car seems to run fine but I have this low rub / wooshing kind of sound that is steady with the belt rotation (see video).
I did remove one of the idler pulleys when replacing the water pump, it is back in and torqued properly. I don't see anything rubbing on the belt, I just loosened it and reinstalled it again to make sure everything was centered properly. Does my tension pulley need to be retorqued somehow? I just used a breaker bar on it to remove and install the belts.
2008 C2S with 58k miles. I appreciate any and all advice.
