if you are concerned about looks and better protection you can do as I did and have a custom fitted 3m aerospace (or equivalent) one. much less visible stronger and more coverage with less exposed lines.
if you are just looking for protection (or a temporary solution for track?) why not just use some of that tape or rubber spray people use for the tracks?
