Unhappy Navigation System! Need Help! :)

Ok... here's the deal guys.

We are a little (too) late with technology in my country

My 997 worked fine in the US with the navigation system, obviously because the maps are from the US and CANADA.
Here in Argentina we have the cartography (spelling) but it works with GARMIN GPS' and I honestly don' know how to make it work with the Porsche Navigation and I would really like to!!!

Is there any way to do this? I have the maps from my country but work only with GARMIN apparently, is there any type of conversion that can be made to the files or something to make this works?

You friend STIG from the third world thanks you in advance for your support!!!

You would need to get a Navigation DVD that works with the Porsche-nav for your country. You could ask your local dealer if he has any maps; or you could try a DVD from another car (Make sure it says NAVTEQ onboard).

Dealer has nothing!

The thing is that there are no DVDs from my country! Only CDs with GARMIN routes, not NAVTEQ

I'll see if i can find anything..

Thanks mishref

Just for kicks , I tried the Porsche nav. DVD on my home computer . The files show up, but there is no "install file" so I could not get it to work.
Check with Navteq .They make navigation discs for the whole world , not just US and Europe .

I would start by asking a local dealer if the car is available in Argentina with the nav. option.
If yes, then a compatible DVD must exist .

Thanks a lot JCS for trying the DVD on your computer... I did the same thing and showed a couple of files with database extension. Not much of a use with the computer since the navigation module can only understand those files.

No navigation is available in Argentina, at least OEM. You can get a Garmin GPS and upload the maps (they are available) but NAVTEQ doesn't make maps for South America (NOT YET AT LEAST).

I hate this!!! All of my cars have navigation and is totally USELESS!
