chirping sound on cold starts
I seem to be getting this random chirping sound on cold starts. It sounds like a squeak almost of some moving part. It doesn't always happen, and I know if I bring it in, i"ll get the "We can't duplicate the noise" routine. Does anyone have any idea what it could be, is it a problem, etc. The car has 16,000 miles on it.
Thank you
Thank you
Joe, does it sound like it could be exhaust hangers jostling slightly while engine initially torques at startup?
On my C2S w/7K miles I get some exhaust rattle for the first few sec's after startup. I think it's heat expansion in the cat converters and/or a bit of metal/metal hanger contact, no big deal at all because it always goes away 100% after around 20 seconds. My co-worker who has a 997 gets the same sort of thing so if it's the exhaust settling in, it seems normal.

Design flaw?..
Are you sure there isnt a bird stuck inside your front grill?
