I heard from somewhere else the airbox alone is $5K. The project name F77 cause they build 77 airbox prototype for this project.

So if you had a Tiptronic car how would you hook up the small back hose to the blue air intake hose. Is this kit only for 6 speeds?

I was just at the dealership today (HBL in Tyson's Corner, VA) and I was told they are now a Champion distributor. I asked about retaining the warranty (I have the 7yr/100K) and they said if bought/installed the parts there, I'd retain the warranty. I know they'll charge SRP, but it'll be worth it to retain my extended warranty...

That airbox is awesome - I wonder if it will work with the stock decklid. I want to keep the outside looking stock.

Luxury and Sport Cars magazine in June tested it and all they talked about was how good the car looked and sounded.

Looks like it's a problem of the angle of the rear deck lid. I think if you close it they line up perfect

You'd think there would be some rubber seals at the top of those thin carbon fiber intake tunnels to seal off water and debris.

I have the dual cone carbon fiber airbox as installed by champion, price is about 3500.00. I had the K n N, however, i was receiving engine fault, screaming red line to over 7k instantly. It screwed up my tip shifting. It just was not good. the packaging is marked 996 and for off road use. However the sound was good, and it did feel like more power but it was not worth the risk to my car. I returned it to Vivid. The k & n is very micky mouse, the air just goes into the engine compartment without direction, so it would be impossible to maintain cold air intake as the engine heats up, so will the air. The MAS is a problem as the air is all over the place and piece is loose, Champion had to add brackets to keep the unit in place. The champion piece is great, uses your standard deck lid but they open another air port. Sound is great, look is awesome, power is there, warranty is intact, and NO engine faults.
