Even the '01 740i that I own is a fast car. 280hp/330 torque. For a sedan that weighs in at 4200+, turns are good, not to be compared to a sports car.

What body style was it?
back in the days the 750il was v12.
now the current 750li is v8.
so i am not sure which model u r talking about.
if current gen then it's a 760li.

nice car to drive around.
Painful to look at.

Definatley a V12 - badges on the side....I was in front (barely) so I didn't make a good connection with the rear badge....could have been a 760.

isnt it just sad that a guy driving his entire family with shopping in the trunk can keep up with a dedicated sports car?

I have been pounding around in my wife's 745Li the past 20 months and am very impressed with the speed and agility of the car. I recently found out the the short wheelbase version is just a couple of ticks off through the cones vs. the M3. Thats saying something for a 2 1/2 ton luxocruiser!

At this level, the difference between good, really good, excellent and top-of-class becomes very slim.

It's gotta be a 760li and if the 760li kept up with a 997S, it's no shame.
We are talking straight line and hwy driving here. Plus the 760li has good torque. I would like to see him stay up with even a regular 911 in a track or twisty road. It's not a fair compareson.

Yes it can beat the 997S, but not the TT, M5 or M6.

apparently, the 997S is the fastest car in the world, so there is no way that a 7series couldve kept up with you....... AHHAHAH
