I just purchased a 05' 997

I have not seen or driven the car as it was located 2k miles from where I live. The car was just loaded onto a covered transport to Seattle and I was informed the change oil light came on. My question is: should I be concerned about odo tampering or does the 997 have an internal clock that drives when the oil needs changed? I have every reason to believe the sales rep was honest throught this transaction and he is the person who relayed the news to me. He said the car had not been started in 2 weeks (only to load it up tonight). What do you think? Thanks for your help.

how many miles on the car? I think the factory setting is 10K for oil change. It has a warranty, bring it to the dealer when you receive it and have it checked out. Lots of little electrical gremlins in the 997, none of which will keep me from recommending this superb car to all my friends.

it has 5,100 miles

Just wondering why the change oil light would come on with such low miles on the clock.
