997s vs. Audi A6 (fender bender)
A girl in a Audi A6 decided to change lanes a bit too quick; gave my carrera a nice bump at about 40km/hr. After a quick wash (didn't even use any polish) the porsche came out with a small scratch. The audi will be probably be needing a visit to the body shop.
These cars are built quite well
Any ideas on the best way to approach this dent? I have full insurance and she was at fault, I just think its too small for a respray and the bodypart doesnt need replacing.

In the picture your car appears to be black, and not basalt. Black is an easy color to color match and blend. Go to a good body shop and they can take care of the damage. Maybe the young lady would pay out-of-pocket so as not to affect her insurance rates.
My car is basalt .. don't know who would be able to do a good color match (not even the dealer). As for insurance rates, they work differently in this country; not sure what the system is .. but you pay a certain percentage of your car.
i'm sorry to say but that's a tough spot for repair. it might seems easy but the entire side panel might need to be repainted since u can't really get that dent out from those mobile guy.
well, glad both of u were ok since it could've been a lot worse if she missed the wheel.

Yeah man, I saw him a week after the fact, was stunned when he told me his car was wrecked, and was utterly amazed that this kid then bought her dinner that same night.

Someone skilled with a fender roller *might* be able to roll that out, but the paint will definitely be affected. I also stongly recomend that you have the alignment checked. It looks like she caught a lot of your tire which can throw things off.
The alignment is def. screwed .. dropping it off at the dealership next week. Just in time for the 10k oil change. I am not paying for anything; and my insurance rates aren't going .. dropping it off and hoping for something that takes the least time.
I am still suprised by how well the porsche held up.
