found my rattle!!

You do not need to offer an explanation .
My sarcastic reply was in reponse to finn's remark, which was seconded by you. I commented on finn's lack of spelling skills to make a point of his referring to others
as " dumass " when his own mental capacity is dubious at best .
And I believe the solution I described was pretty much the same as suggested by Crod.

Anyway.......
You don't have to remove the round piece by pulling on it - you don't even have to touch it. As I said, the round piece is held in place by the square piece that it sits in. That entire square surround piece pops right out allowing access to the bottom of the round piece where the small metal tabs are.
And "VOILA"
, rattle gone.

JCS: Hey dum(b)***. You only know how to spell it because you are one. Are you one of those guys who thinks your smarter than everybody else so you have to be a dik? Oops, better check my spelling. Man, this board is about chatting with fellow Porsche owners about the passion we have for our cars.
Your probably the same dude who gets pissed everytime somebody posts a question about whether or not your 911 would out sprint another sports car. Who gives a sh*t if somebody wants to know that. Thats why we bought the damn car, because we like to go fast!
Im sick and tired of aholes on this board who have to be rude because they think someone is asking an inappropriate question. Take off loser and go to another board. Your not wanted here.
Sorry for the rant boys, but arrogance should be painful.

OK, Let me get this straight. You and your boyfriend are upset because I gave him (your boyfriend) a hard time about being the spelling bee of the board. I thought slang was aloud. Sorry, my bad. Next time I will only use proper english.
If I remember right, the original poster complained about a rattle he had discovered in his ashtray. I told him I had the same thing and was frustrated that a Porsche tech couldn't figure it out.
That's when Harvard Law stepped in to correct me on my english. So why don't both of your go to your coffee house and exchange prose over a latte'. Your both self important, arrogant loooooosers!!!! Sorry, Losers.

Since it most likely was my quoting finn's "dumass" remark that started this, I would like to apologize to you.
My original post was intended purely as a tongue-in cheek remark and my feeble attempt at humor was obviously misunderstood .
Again, my apologies .
I'm only going to post once, and hopefully to make a point.
Finn - the point is not that someone corrected your spelling or grammar, or called you a dumbass for it. The point is that whenever you post on the internet and use poor spelling and grammar (a little is fine - everyone makes typo's, but a lot is bad), regardless of how smart you may be or how useful your information, people will assume you are an idiot and ignore what you say (even if they don't bother to post about it like JCS). If you don't care what people think of your comments, no loss. But if you are actually trying to share information, it helps if they do not think you are an idiot (due to your english skills).
Nothing personal here, just facts and advice. And remember...

OK JCS. Accepted. Sometimes I type in my "party poker" lingo. If you play, you know what I mean. OK, so it's dead then. Peace.
Oh, by the way Grave, you should read the post completely before you offer your rude input. Seriously dude, read your post. Your kind of a jerk.
