Exhaust?
Why are people buying Fabspeed if they do not produce significant performance gains? Someone correct me if I am wrong, but AWE produces better gains with their headers, mufflers and cat system than Fabspeed, Tubi and others. I ran a dyno on my before and after results with the AWE setup and had great results - about + 30HP w/ 91 octane.

It is kind of funny the system is $1095.00 from Evo and $1150 if you go direct to fabspeed. Make me a good deal on your headers and cats and you'll have my business. lol
Synergy, I know you really push AWE products on these forums from reading your posts. I am sure AWE builds a fine product too. Anyway, a lot of these companies CLAIM hp/tq improvments with these products but yet I have seen an independant test showing this. I wish Excellence would do a shoot out without company reps on hand. A local guy to me did all these exhaust mods and a ecu reflash at a local Porsche dealer with before and after dyno runs with not much if any of a difference on the dyno or his butt dyno. I know for a fact that a dyno run can be manipulated to show gains or decreases. Dyno runs can be a long long subject though.

When you add up all the gains claimed by Fabspeed, it's over 40 HP for their system . And when you add their revolutionary, red rubber elbow "cold air kit" it's well over 50 HP.
Compared to that, your 30+ HP with AWE sucks. Lol
How does the finish on the AWE compare to the Fabspeeds?
(The Fabspeed mufflers have such a spectacular finish on them that a " girlie boy " mechanic does not even need a mirror to check his hair, while installing them )

Oh, almost forgot :
With your mufflers and the K&N Filter system for $299, you can gain almost as
many HP as from a $ 20,000 supercharger and no worries about voiding your warranty .
( all results Dyno proven, of course ) What a deal .

Out of respect to our dealer network I do not discount our components.
I just ask that you keep in mind that we stand behind our systems with a 30 day money back guarantee and a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser. We are upfront with our test data and do our best to provide industry leading customer service. We are hoping this is enough to spend a few extra dollars.
Another feature is the quality of the product itself. Unlike most of our competitors we are not experiencing check engine lights from low quality cats. The 997's have much tighter tolerances when it comes to changing the cats. The 996 cars had more wiggle room. You really need a HIGH quality cat to be within the Motronic window.
We found this out by extensive testing. We incorporate cats used by the same supplier that VW and Audi use. The price and shipping cost of these is extraordinarily high, but it is what is needed to keep the CE light off.
Also, when comparing headers. Look at the surface of the flange that touches the cylinder head. When you look at ours you will notice that it looks machined. Well, after welding the headers the flange will experience some slight warpage due to heat. It's completely natural and happens to all of them. What we take the time to do is put them in our Fadal CNC machine and fly cut the face of the flange. (we spent weeks making a custom jig to do this) This will eliminate any high and low spots so you will get a leak free fit every time. Also, look inside. We take the time to ground down the welds to maximize flow.
The examples above are all tedious and time consuming, but it's all in the details. This is something we pride ourselves on. When other car guys come to our facility and I give them a tour, I enjoy seeing the look on thier faces when I point things like this out. Makes you feel good about the job you do.
Hey, ask guys like Alex from Sharkwerks or Arling from Lucent. They can give you first hand experience. They sell the product and can appreciate the detail work that we put into each system.
If you are local to us, I encourage you to stop by. I love talking about this stuff and would like to show you how we shine.
Mike (AWE) thanks for taking time to respond and tell us about your systems.
Guys, I stopped by Champion Motorsports today on the way home to Tampa to check out the Tubi stuff in person.Victor there was super nice and pulled the gray F77 car around for me to hear the Tubi product. I was surprised how quiet it is at idle. It sounds totally stock just sitting there at idle. When rev'd the Tubi starts to bark and burble. Since I own Fabspeed mufflers my sound comparison is the Tubi is much crisper and the Fabspeed is warmer possibly deeper sounding. The Tubi also might be louder at aceleration. They claim the Tubi gains 12-15hp at the wheels!!!! hummm....
I still have not found anyone with AWE to listen too so I do not have a sound comparo to the Tubi and Fabspeed.
One last thing....to my ears...the Tubi and Fabspeed sound nothing like the sound clips on the websites. I have my computer hooked up to a pair of tanoy studio monitors and a carver power amp so the sound on my end is realistic. The problem lies in the the cheap mics on the video cameras.

Hi guys. I just bought Agency Power exhaust/mufflers for my 996 C2 and it is being installed right now.
IMHO, I also am not 100% convinced that there are REAL power gains from the exhaust system, so my choice is mainly based on price and sound. I'm sure they do provide some power gain but probably not as much as claimed. I personally really like the sound of the AP exhaust.
They changed the price but I bought my right before for $695, so it was definitely worth it for me.
Below are a couple posts about the AP exhaust:

Oh. I can be completely wrong on this but I heard that Fabspeed, Agency Power, and some other companies outsource their mufflers to other manufactuers.
I also heard that Agency Power exhaust are made at the exact same facility as the Fabspeed.
