Anyone with a 997S feel like their brake pedal is a bit...soft ? Once I really get into the brakes, it feels fine. But under regular braking it just feels a bit soft and mushy to me...
Has anyone had any luck firming up the pedal feel by changin the pads and fluid ? I used to run ATE SuperBlue in my 993 and that made the pedal a bit firmer. Wondering if that would help the 997S as well ?

You seem pretty knowledgable Crod, so I have a question for you. By the way I read your post on the guy wondering about bigger brakes...pretty funny but again knowledgable. My C4S has under 500 miles and lately when I drive it after a while it has a funny smell. Can't make out where it is coming from just funny. I wonder if during the brake in period since the car is new it will do this? I was told not to drive it too hard and I normally don't but I have stepped on it a few times (shifting between 4,000-4,500 rpms) . I generally drive it carefully because of the freaking break in period. Anyways the smell is whether I drove it a bit harder or even when I don't. It happens pretty much when I drive it all day. Car does not behave/perform any different. Any thoughts? Am I crazy?

 

the funny smell will go away but it takes a few thousand miles. I forget what they call it (starts with a C) but it is aprotection film applied for shipped on the engine and so forth. I have 3500 miles and it is finally going away.
