Looks like the front-end is going to borrow some styling influence from the Boxster by "rounding" the turn signal and the side intakes into one integral / organic opening.

Same here, the 997 is the best of the 996 ande 993 with something special to make it standout. As for the pics above i dont like it.

I like it but keep the LEDs for non-german cars.

I'm a bit upset about missing the 09 boat by a few months, but overall, I think the only change I really wanted, would be the possible DSG transmission.
More HP would be nice but I think I'm comfortable with the 355HP.... for now.

I think he might mean late calendar year 2008 (Sept 08) which we know as the '09 model year.

Well, I got a call from my dealership today telling me that I can't have my Porsche by June due to the special color order and Porsche being unable to meet that deadline. Its either choose a new color and get it by June or wait till fall for it... I'm waiting till fall and of course it gets bumped to an 09 model (yay!).

The actual news is that my salesman mentioned that they were receiving training for the PDK units. I hope this is available across the board for 09. He didn't say it was certain but otherwise... I still remain hopeful.
