Clutch question

My clutch started feeling a little strange the last time I drove my car and I have to let it out more than usual before it grabs. I would think that this indicates clutch wear but I only have 6k miles on it. I had 30k+ miles on my 996 clutch without problems and I have driven manual tranny cars since I got my license without ever having a clutch close to wearing out on me. I slip my clutch as little as possible on launches, I don't drive in traffic except when I go to LA which has only been 3x in this car, and I have never done any Stig style burnouts. It's going in Monday but I was wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences. Doesn't a hydraulic clutch adjust itself?

Mine is about to go out at 15k miles, but that could be the S/C. Let me know what you find out. I'm wondering about aftermarket clutches...

It doesn't sound right, too few miles. Needless to say "go to the dealer".
best of Luck.

hehehe... Thanks for the burn out kind of style compare

It's weird, I never had a problem with my car and have about the same mileage than you.

I took it in and my tech told me that everything was "within specs". I guess we shall see, but my guess is that for some reason the clutch is wearing prematurely. No prob Stig, I figure that you deserve some credit for those burnouts.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you think your clutch is about to go out? Is it slipping or is it because the engagement point has changed?
