do you guys with the newer cars not have the option of just plugging the ipod into the back of your radio like i did with my 02?

Trunk install, do it yourself. Glove box or in console, installer!

I'm in the same boat - mine is sitting on my kitchen counter waiting for an install. I'm going to have mine done professionally (no interest in messing with power or optical cables), but I'm holding off until things calm down with all the problems.

JohnnyD...sounds like the way to go....easier access to the wire and fiber...the glove route looks like a lot more to go wrong! Can you post a photo or two?

yep, those are vampires (except they suck electricity instead of blood )

they very easy to work with and they making splicing into power lines a snap. i used them to wire up both my tire pressure monitor system and my V1.
