3.6l Idle

I recently purchased an '06 C4. At idle, the car shakes a bit. I've read that this is normal on a GT3, but haven't found anything that says that this is normal on a base Carrera engine. On a test drive I remember feeling this, but I need to hear that an "irregular" idle is normal. The car performs beautifully.

Thanks for your replies.

Peter

It's not like the car is rocking all over the place, but when sitting at a light you can feel the car shake a bit in a random type of fashion. Hard to explain. If the idle of my engine is supposed to be perfectly smooth, then there might be something wrong, but if a shake here and there is normal, than I suspect everything is cool. It feels more "sporty" than that there's a problem, but it's definitely not a perfectly smooth idle.

I've got a solution if you can't stand the shaking!!

Buy a toyota prius. My car doesn't shake because it never idles. It just shuts off and runs on electric.

I have a 997 S and it does not shake when idling .
If the idle is rough, perhaps the idle rpm needs adjusting ?

I just fired it up in my garage. It's raining here in Vegas and it's clean, so I don't want to take it out . I popped the engine cover and listened. The engine idle sounds perfect, and I heard it drop it's RPM's after it was on for a minute or so. What I noticed is that the engine moves ever so sligtly in the bay. I suspect that that's what I'm feeling in the driver seat when at idle. Does that help clear anything up?
