we went with 2 stg 3 S4's and on the freeway they absolutely smoked me but I was getting similar times with both of them if not better, their best trap was I think only 2 mph greater then mine.

His is in the 370ish chp range?......while mine is in the 525+ chp range. He trapped 111.7.....i trapped 114.4 or so with a 12.6, but i bogged my launches (plus trouble with a slightly slipping clutch in the 1st two gears). My car will do hi-11's....and trap 118-120 with a good driver/launch and no misses in shifts. So his 12.7@111+ is well inline with what a 997S can do.....my time and trap wasn't. Thus the difference from the highway pulls to the times and traps at the strip after. Highway pulls tells you alot about the power of the cars. And I agree......traps are more indicative in most cases than times.

I was looking over a few old timeslips today of my C5 z06 and It was funny cuase I pulled off my best timed with my 997S and ive only had 4 runs with it as long as ive had it as opposed to 30 + runs with my Z06.
I understand that last week when I got that time with my 997S at Famoso it was a better track then all the others I went to with my Z06 but come on, I thought the Z06 should have been noticeably faster, or is the 997S just almost as fast.
My best 1/8 with the Z06 was 8.2 @ 88mph at Irwindale speedway.
My best 1/4 with the Z06 was 12.9 @ 108 @ LACR (Worst track ever)
I achieved that time after Ive had alot of driving experience with my Z06 therfore Imknow ther was very little driver error, Some traction problems though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ye0MiZn7lqw
When I had jsut got my Z06 I went to Fontana california speedway and this track is way better then LACR, even due to driver error (first time on the 1/4) I managed to pull of a 8.6 @ 89 and 13.1 @ 111.. as you can see the traps are improved due to better elevation.
With my 997S I pulled off a 12.7 @ 111mph, And i know ther was way more room for improvement http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Tt0bIH_XXo
Not sure about the tracks info but I know that Famoso is the best and LACR is the worst.
So what im really wondering is this only cause of the different tracks or can it also be that the 997S can be compared to cars as fast as a C5 Z06.

I think a 997S with bolt ons ( full exhaust, intake..etc) and DR's is very capable of low low 12's. I think I just might do it.
Waiting to hear the flaming comments about how a porsche is not a drag car. lets hear it guys.

Getting good drag racing numbers in a Porsche is very hard to do. That's why when you see the 996 tt's running 10's it is really impressive. I think you did good and if you improve that 60 ft time it will be even better. These cars are hard to launch!
Mine's really hard to launch. I'm telling you, I am so impressed with the EVO video of the SC 3.6 997 runing a mid 11 that I can't explain it. I need to work more on my launches, sure, but I just can't get it to do the wheel hop thing now that it's SCd. Once they hop, I light them up. There's a ton of modulation to do that you don't have to in an NA car. NA you just hold the throttle through the axle hopping... Not now. I need to get a new clutch and go try a ton more.
