Annoying Beep at 58 MPH. ????

What is it?
Each time I cross over 58 mph, the dash beeps once.

Checked:
  • Limits on the computer/Nav are not set.
  • Top is down,
  • Rear wing is fixed (Tech Art Type III rear spoiler ) and moving wing is not connected (could this be the gremlin?)

There is a function that you can set to beep when you go over a certain MPH. Mine was at 30mph when it first came... it might be the limit on the computer you were talking about though, it's in the main menu on the dash.

Could it be that you need to take the car to the dealer and have the moveable wing disabled? I don't think just disconnecting it will do. Gotta do a plug in to the port for a software disable?

This was done at the time the wing was installed, and it did require the software connection. It disabled the flashing warning light in the instrument cluster. The beep is not all the time ....maybee one in 3 trips ??

there is also the dashboard set speed limiter which is independent of the three PCM speed settings. it is accessed by the trip/mpg lever stalk.

Dealer loaner Cayman had it set to 75. Very annoying untill I finally figured how to shut it off.

Thanks for the compliments, and suggestions...The p-car is my wife's ride...
I finally figured it out with the good advice gathered here. LH stalk 4 menus deep under LIMITS.... PITA ! I am just about ready to shoot the "dinger" It's always mad about something. Nag, Nag, Nag...
  • dingggg...put on your seat-belt while starting the car and pulling into the garage.
  • dingggg...I need gas in 200 mi
  • dingggg...your front tire is 2# low and you are in imminent danger with low pressure.
  • dingggg...doot is open, lights are on, passenger needs a beer... whatever...it's always Nagging at me.
I only wanted to drive it, not get married to it.

Enough rants for now...gorgeous day here in N Carolina.. Heading out to the "Tail of the Dragon"on Thursday for a rally.. The golden days of spring are here!
