My 2006 997S did not come with the TPMS (Tire Pressure Management System) and I am looking at the possibility of adding the Porsche or an aftermarket system. So far, I have struck out with the Porsche option as I called Circle Imports in Long Beach where I bought the car. The service manager stated that if it did not come with the car originally they would not install one. One of the other issues is that with the low profile tires and rims (I have the Cargraphic 19" forged" it appears that the valve stem senders may wind up causing a problem in being too big and interfere with the tires. Anyone have any ideas on what systems are out there or what might work?

 

i don't think you can add TPMS unless OEM built. i would not go through the trouble.

 

The big issue will not be the sensors in the wheels but the fact that your car doesn't have the receivers in each of the 4 wheel wells nor the wiring and other electronics need to monitor the pressure - I agree - it will be too costly assuming it can even be done.
