Ever since getting my Rolex I have been intereted in maybe starting a small collection of watches. I really love the Omegas, Tags and Breitlings. Can someone please shed some light on which brands hold their value the best (or even appreciate). Interested in watches in the $1000 - $5000 range at this time. Primarly new since I am not experienced enough to purchased used.

I guess I will feel less guilty spending the money if I know I can turn the watches into money if needed at some point in the future.

I own all the brands you mention. Rolex by far holds it value and/or apreciates. Breilting does OK if you buy your piece right. Look at Panerai as they hold there value better but not like Rolex. AP is another brand of awesome watches that hold there value very well.

I buy watches that interest me regaurdless of how the hold their value and I ABSOLUTLY LOVE my Breitlings and Tag Carrera.

 

I have a Panerai, couple Breitlings, on Omega and a Cartier and I think the Panerai is holding its value the best (PAM 171). Im into larger, less common watches so I dont buy Rolex. Buy smart, search for deals as they are out there on Breitlings, Cartier for example and always buy from AD's.
