Tire Pressure - Manual or Computer?

So the computer is reading the tire pressure about 2 pounds lower than both my quality manual gauges. When talking to the service manager at my local SoCal dealer he said that he has spoken to Porsche about this and that I should go by the computer and not the manual check. Any thoughts on this? Would seem like the two manual checks would be the most accurate and maybe Porsche is trying to cover itself for an inaccurate gauge on a hundred thousand dollar car.

Never go by the computer - mine on two different cars has always read 4 psi lower than what two different manual gauges show. The computer is just good for showing differential psi...and for letting you know you have a flat. Even the TPMS on my Yukon reads lower than what the guages say - I always use the handheld gauge for accuracy.

jhbrennon,

That is my thinking too. Just funny that the service manager tells me different!

There was a recent thread about this. A bunch of us chimed in, stating that the TPMS was off by about 4 lbs. low.
