I prefer late evening about 1 hr or so before the sun set's. I use a Canon 20D with my 15-55 f/2.8 lens or if it is more of a portrait I've have excellent results with my 100-400 L set at 100mm. I set the aperture according to the depth of the shot I am trying to keep in focus.

 

Sweet, anytime is good for a Pcar. I prefer little after sunrise or before sunset!
