Which direction to go...
Hey guys!
New to posting on here but I've been a daily read for the last few weeks. Really enjoy some of the threads and informative posts.
I'm posting though for a quick opinion about some of the options I'm leaning toward with my 997 C2S.
Right now I'm feeling a little starved for power so one of my first considerations is adding a S/C along with rechip, full exhaust system, headers, and intake. Also looking at changing out the wheels and getting a new bumper + side skirts.
The second option is to wait until next spring after I finalize the purchase of my new home and sell my 997 C2S to get 2007 997 Turbo.
My concerns with the first option are obviously resale issues down the line with a heavily modded car, plus the general reliability of a S/C on this engine. I only have 4500 miles on my car and still have over 2 years of warranty left so I'd hate jeopardize the engine and my warranty if reliability is an issue. For the second option my concerns have to do with purchasing a launch model year turbo and the potential for launch year mechanical issues, and the heavier feel of a 997 Turbo compared to the C2S.
What do you guys think? Any personal experience on S/C, etc. would be a great help. I'd value your feedback. Thanks!

I would go for the easy mods before making the jump .. cats/headers/exhaust/plenum/chip/intake .. if that doesn't do the trick, get the S/C.
A word of advice, the S/C relies mostly on the installer. Since you are close to EVOms; I would just ship it over there for the whole install.
If you are looking at resale value, the Ruf conversion might be more efficient in the long run.

If I decided to go the mod route I would definitely do it in steps. My real concern with a NA engine up here at 5000+ ft here in Denver is the noticible loss of power you feel at this altitude. I also often drive up in the mountains at 8-10k elevations and if the estimates of 2-3% per 1k/ft are true thats that can add up to a maximum of 30% power loss. Atleast with forced aspiration you can aliviate a bit of that power loss and why I was leaning towards either a S/C or switching to the 997 turbo.
Anyone driven both a 997 C2S and 997 turbo? Any opinions on feel between the two? I've heard a lot of people say the turbo isn't as playful, and has a heavy feel when driving in comparison.
