Question on range 2 over-rev

Hey Guys,

I had a quick question. I have been shopping around for a 997S and found a nice one. Upon requesting the readout from the DME the dealer told me that this car has had 1 range 2 over rev (7500-7900). Should this be something that prevents me from buy the car. He did not indicate the duration of the over rev but claims that it's nothing to fear.

Should I go forward or walk away from this car?

Thanks in advance,

Pete

Range 2 is no problem at all. I've had range, 3 bouncing off the rev limiter and a range 4 from a split second accidental downshift.. the report shows how many revoloutions were made in that range and my range 4 was only 8 revs, which is less than a blink of an eye.. I quickly realized the tranny guided the shift down 3 instead of 1 so I never let it fully engage.. If you drive it like it was meant to be driven you're gonna have 2's and 3's.....4's are only accidents.
