I find that if I don't pay attention, I might stall but it hasn't happened in a while. Would be a major bummer doing it in front of a major babe on the sidewalk!

I find that switching between cars, you really have to pay attention. The Mondial has more low end torque, but stumbles a bit until it's warmed up. Also, first gear is back and reverse is up - great choice - stall trying to pull away in 2nd in the porsche or mistakenly have the Ferrari in reverse!

It happened to me twice in the first month I owned it. It had a bad stumbling problem when cold. The dealer updated my ECU (I believe there was a recall dealing with this on early 05 cars) and haven't had a problem since. Even so - it takes a bit more concentration than any other car I've owned. If I can't hear the engine, I'll glance at the tach out of the corner of my eye. I find that about 1400-1700 rpm with foot barely pressing the gas you can let the clutch out in one quick smooth motion and it is impossible to kill it. When the shifter cable broke I even drove it to the dealer in 3rd gear without too much difficulty. That probably took a few thousand miles off my clutch though.

I stalled going into a parking structure last week trying to becareful not to scrape the bottom...I actually stall it at least a couple times a week!!!!
I think it either happens when I'm trying to be TOO careful or if I'm just not paying attention doing something at the light~

stall

I think we have all stalled at one time. My 1st stall was during a test drive. I reached for the key on the right side of the wheel and remembered it was on the left side. The salesman had tell me to turn the key left to reset and then turn the engine on. driver behind me was very upset.
I have stalled maybe 3 times in about 9 months with this car (08C2S)
It might help if the idle speed is increased to 1000 rpms. It is not a problem for me.

Just yesterday. Also probably burned 1/2 the clutch on my test drive last week. I'm good to go now.

I've stalled a few times - always at a stop light going into first. Still learning to shift.....

The last time I stalled? What time is it? I've driven a manual for 20 years and have stalled more in one year in a C2S than the previous 19 combined. It's just a car that demands a bit of attention when starting (unlike the various BMW's I've had). The thing for me is even a barely perceptible incline requires a little more gas and this is usually where I get caught up (when not paying attention) and stall.

I know this is way off topic and my apologies for bringing this up here! I was always embarrassed to admit about stalling but didn't realize how many of us do it!! lol My thing here is that after stalling and trying to start the car up again i hear this bad awful sound like metal banging or cranking noise before the car starts again? Am i the only one to hear this? it sounds ridiculous and only after stalling?
