I have a strange sound that seems to come from inside the passenger side door of my 06 Carrera S. When I accelerate or brake fairly hard, it sounds like a solid plastic ball rolling and banging into something. It definitely sounds like it is coming from inside the door and I have checked the armrest compartment to make sure there is nothing in there. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

 

Check underneath your passenger seat and in your glove box too. Noises are not always easy to isolate.

 

You were right. After trying to get the sound to come from the door when not driving, I scoured the whole car. Found out that the wheel lug lock had somehow come loose in the front trunk and was wedged behind the carpet cover. It really sounded like it was coming from the door but it must have just been resonating into the door. This is not quite as embarassing as when I was a teen with a camaro where I thought the throttle was sticking. AFter much work, it turned out that is was the floor mat creeping forward on to the bottom of the gas pedal and holding it down momentarily before it came back up.

 

Glad you found it. I am guilty of the "after much work" many times myself.

I found as I got older the words my Dad used to tell me "it is usually is something simple or small" echo in my head more often. LOL
