First time P-car owner!

Just purchased my first P-car: 2006 997 C2s carrara white on beige, full leather interior, sport chrono, heated seats, bose, etc with 11,800 miles on it. I traded in my beloved 2005 M3 for it. It will be missed but I am sure the 997 will prevent me from missing it too much. Looking forward to to picking her up on Saturday and will post pics afterwards. Just saying hi to other forum members and lookin forward to being a part of the Porsche community. I am already looking to buy mufflers for the car...just can't decide between AWE, Fabspeed, and Borla and searching has not really helped me much in making a decision...

you are not going to miss the m3. the 997S is in another league. much more driver focused out of the box.

check youtube for sound clips, and search for them because there was a thread on this not too long ago.

congrats! enjoy it in good health. and where are your pics!!??!!

Do you know if it is possible to add nav to the 997? I assume it should be possible given it already has pcm...

Alright!! Congrats--Enjoy the car.

Exhaust is a highly debated topic on this forum. There are many to choose from. All have a distinct sound to them. Honestly the soundclips will give you an idea but hearing these systems in person will probably be the best.

well done

Congrats on the color combination (also my choice). During the 80s and 90s almost every car was between light and dark metallic gray and people forgot that a Carrera is white, just like a Ferrari is red when Porsche got so much into the luxury business. Now the trend reverses big time (not only with Porsche) as people aim for simple, basic colors. Also more customers are Posrche passionate whereas the luxury segment moved on to AMG or Aston Martin. Funny enough, you'll find cars either from the 70's or between 2006 to 2008 if you want a white one.
Personally I wouldn't recommend the in-dash nav, as you get better for cheaper with a handheld device and that you'll soon get GPS free of charge on yr Blackberry or i-phone. Just like CD changers and in-dash telephones, in-dash nav of all car brands are dinosaurs.

Congrats on your new 997s! IMO white is one of the best color for 997! Gd choice there.

I have a set of brand new fabspeed mufflers if you're interested. I'm selling it at a much cheaper price than retail. Let me know if you're interested

I have heard soundclips. I think the AWE sounds great but the clip I heard I believe is the full AWE setup. The Borla sounds more throaty and probably louder than the AWE, but it is hard to tell from the clip. I had a full supersprint setup on my M3 with the lightweight race muffler and it was very loud. I do not want anything near as loud this time around. Something deep and moderately loud at best on WOT. How do you like your fabspeed?
