I did this to my car. I got a set of stock mufflers or free and did the mod for 80 bucks, this is the best mod i have aver done for the money and is actually one of my favorite mods. I personally like it better than any aftermarket exhausts. It is loud but not too loud and slightly raspier and deeper than stock, the perfect exhaust in my opinion

i did use them for a bit.
I used to have AWE mufflers. was planning on selling the car so modded the stock cans while they were off, then put them on after i sold the awe.
then i decided to not sell the car and came accross a good deal on a set of fabspeed mufflers.
they all have sounded pretty similar.
i also have headers, and a cold air intake.
i have shown one of the 6speeders my setup and he didnt think it sounded much different than stock...
i posted some clips on youtube.

I'm interested if you still have them. I have a 997S if that makes a difference since you want stocks. I'm in Irvine so I can meet you where ever its convenient for you. feel free to email me or pm me if you are still interested in swap + cash for the mods. Your hacked mufflers are in good shape, right?

Question regarding the size of the bypass pipe: Do you think that using a bypass pipe with a smaller diameter will make the sound a little less loud / aggressive?

So I visted AAA muffler. They wanted $300 to do the hack, so I told them to *uck off. Does anyone here know a muffler shop in or around the LA area that can do it for a reasonable price?

The muffler shop i went to quoted me $40 bucks for the weld. That is if i remove the mufflers myself, otherwise there will be an extra installation charge.

VHT = Very Hight Temp Paint - I used it to paint over the welds and the crossover pipe. Just to prevent any rust etc...

Here the same pics I took to the shop with me - I printed them and gave them to the shop.

Great sound for short money!

Have fun

Have fun
