The ACR is what Viper track guys have wanted for some time now from Dodge, and be able to drive on the street.

I have a 2008 "Very Orange" Viper Vert due by mid January.

The parts from the ACR can be lifted from MOPAR.

I am upgrading to: Black L/W Sidewinder wheels, Lighter slotted stop-tech rotors, KW Adjustable suspension, Race Headers and Exhaust, Cold-air intake.

I am undecided on the splitter and wing (wing would be lower on vert) They are 110% functional at creating 1000lbs of downforce at 150 MPH....but might look out of place on a vert.

But for a sun in your face vert.....its sure gonna be badd-***.

Typo? That would be a little bit insane on a street car. We are talking F1 numbers here.

Nah F1 is MUCH higher than that. 1k at 150 isn't out of line for a track car at all.

No typo...

Lifted right from the autoweek article. Also the VCA has put out a video on the VCA site that has the engineers at Mopar that deisgned the front splitter, winglets, under apron and rear wing saying in testing it generates an additional 1000 lbs of DF.

An F1 car is alot more than that....just look at the design of the typical F1 Car. I believe an F1 is closer to 1500 +++ lbs....or more

1500 lbs but I thought at much higher speeds. At 150 I would put an F1 car at about 1000lbs of downforce. All of this is purely speculation as I have never had any experience with lots of downforce.

Oh and depending on the circuit, you guys are VASTLY underestimating the downforce of an F1 car.

I have heard it ranges anywhere from 1500lbs at 100mph, to something close to 6k lbs at top speed.

They pull 4g corners, their downforce is out of this world compared to any normal vehicle.

yup, it's difficult for a lot of people to wrap their head around this. you really have to feel a high downforce car to be able to understand. it's really amazing.

This is going to be way too much car for most people. But man it sure is going to be a fun car. I am a bit disappointed in the lack of weight loss but then again its not like we are going from a GT3 to a GT3 Cup. The ACR is street legal.

Why, oh why, won't they get rid of that stupid seam going across the roof just above the windshield? I see they at least painted the stripe on the other side of the seam in between the seam and the windshield unlike the the regular model. A guy I know who has a black '06 is having trouble with his seam, the rubber is starting to fray and come apart.

This does look absolutely bad ***. Can't wait to see one in person, if ever. Might be that the only way you'll see one is to buy one, hmmmmm........
