Lost my first motor on the street. Locked completely up. Paid LG to completely rebuild. Callies crank, mahle pistons, all new titanium rods. Really spent the money. Motor went again on the track. LG blamed it all on the gm oil pump. Last time the bottom of the motor went through the oil pan. Put a new crate motor in it and traded it. LG told me gm had many oiling issues with Z.

Hmm. I know of oil starvation issues on modified Z06s with a lot more grip and suspension in long sweeping corners. Thats about it though.

Crazy hearing about oil starvation, this motor is derived from the C6R right? Seems like it should have been tested through the ringer for that!

Love your mod list, especially the engine, what's it revving too? High revving Z06 on Moton's = DAMN! Done right once again

Oil starvation is only a problem in conditions with really high grip and suspension. GM did a great job designing the car and it won't have a problem in stock form. Thats all we can ask for. Yes, the LS7 was derived from lessons learned in the C5-R race program.

Thanks on the mod list. It still revs to 7000 with fuel cut at 7100. You can't really rev them much higher. The 4.000" means pistons are moving at a mean velocity of 4600fpm. Thats about the limit for an endurance engine. Also, the intake manifold flow limits peak power to about 6500rpm.

Wonderful car and mods. The only car I have sold that I wish I had back was a 2001 C5 Z06 with stock engine + Halltech intake & Corsa Titanium exhaust, LS1 edit & dyno tune, Stoptech 4 wheel BBK, T1 sway bars and 3/4" lowered transverse arm. Slap a set of Hoosiers on that and she ran like a beast all day, everyday.

Now I want to get a C6 Z06 and mod the engine/suspension/brakes similar to your car. How long does it take Katech to do the engine and suspension work? Is there a long waiting list?

More pictures please.
