Material cost to wrap a gen III viper in vinyl.

Out of curiosity, how much do you think it would cost to wrap a entire gen III viper in Vinyl. I found one that I like on everything but the paint color, if I could wrap it with the lime green that the new ones have I think it would be perfect. Plus when I sell it the paint underneath would still be perfect.

What do you think 500-600$ in materials maybe 1K. I used to install vinyl strips on S2000's and minis and the like but never anything this big and have never seen film large enough to cover say the whole hood from side to side. The film was never that expensive unless you went with a print of some kind. I figure once its on it should be easier to get the bubbles out because you really are not worrying about positioning.

I would like a color like this in a high performance product. Like I used to cut for stripes. What width would I need.

Its about 2 grand with labor yes, but I can do the install pretty easy I have done much more complicated installs. I just have always had the material shipped to my by the client, so thats the price that I need.

I have found some 48' vinyl but not in a color that I like yet, and it looks like the cheaper stuff.

I had my vette done in satin black and the film is AveryDenison (their higher end version for cars) plus a layer of UV protect film laminated over it making it a thick vinyl which has been incredible against road debris. (sand, little rocks etc) They don't make the film larger then 48" wide, there are some that are 52" but for the most part you won't like those colors. Anyhow, my hood is wider then that so there was a seem on the hood which is barely noticeable but I'm having a red stripe go over it so everything looks like paint. I'd suggest trying to put the seem down the middle and doing a similar stripe unless you can live with the seem on the hood. Why not put the seem offset a few inches from center and use the GTS type stripes in a tone on tone combo, that should cover the seem and the car will still look great. The stripes suit it.

I was quoted about $3500 for my GT3, I think it has some tough areas.

Yikes. So I got a quote for the 3m material at about 600$ if I do the labor thats not to bad. I need to pull the whole car apart anyway to do the dynamat install and the stereo so I might just do the door jams and everything else while I am in there.

Might be a profitable sideline. The clear bra stuff should install just the same.
