New guy, viper owner
spinz i was wondering what year your car is? and if it is possible for you to daily drive the viper?, i live in los angeles and the funny thing is i wanted a viper so bad. i was looking at 06 coupes, but could not find the color i was looking for. i wanted a low mileage blk on blk with no stripes. it was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. all my buddies laughed when i got a 997 S instead. they didnt understand how i was cross shopping these two cars. anyways can you give me some feedback on the car?. i drove quite a few 03-06 verts and coupes and even a 08 ACR, but only for a very short period of time. (not really sitting in traffic or even a trip more than 30 miles). any info would be great

Jay,
I dont think i'll ever be able to daily drive this car, the cabin inside is so tiny and uncomfortable. The interior material is all the same feeling of a Jeep/Dodge Ram. Its a cheap quality car with a huge motor and sharp looks. I constantly discover new little squeaks here and there, and it has more of that "race car - vibrating feel".
The porsche is an extremely smooth, extremely good handling car that can be used as a daily driver. Plus not to mention im sure it gets way better MPG.
The viper is a fun little toy to take out on the weekends for a spin, but i cant ever see me driving that car as a daily driver, plus im sure you know how non-practical it is to get in and out of them.
its all a matter if you can stand the whole race car feeling type of car.
My fiance has burned her foot with the exhaust two times and she hates the car now. She wants me to trade it in for a more practical toy. I have been looking into 997's, gallardo's, maseratis, etc.
in my town there are a TON of viper owners, but hardly any of them daily drive them..........its really more of a race car, its not very civilized, such as the things spinz mentioned. i dont know if its fixed on the newer models, but i remember the last one i rode in had quite a lot of heat in the interior from the trans tunnel and exhaust, although that could be fixed with some proper aftermarket head shielding wrap installed under the car.........but get one anyway, then you have the viper for the weekends and the porsche for workdays.
personally, i kind of enjoy driving a rough cut, hard to get into, wake the neighbors, stiff handling type of car every day.......but i would say that im in the overwhelming minority.
