Ran across some pics of this drag car I built and owned back in the early 90's... a lot of fun to build...

Probably the only style Mustang I like, and it's gotta be an LX. Nice car.

I've forgotten a bit over the years, lol... but here's what I remember:

1988 Mustang LX 5.0 (Gutted, removed 300-400 lbs of bracing, reinforcement, seats, etc...)

Ladder Bar Suspension/Subframe kit + cage and custom bracing.

Fiberglass Hood, Deck and Lexan Side and Rear Windows, Stretched rear wheel wells

Currie Enterprises narrowed 9", Wilwood discs (4.88 or 5.14 gearing)

BG400 fuel pump, fuel filter, 4 port regulator, fuel cell.

MSD 7AL-2 ignition

1970's 4 bolt main Windsor Block and forged steel crank. Approx 310 ci 13:1 CR Nicely worked heads.

Competition Cams Mechanical Roller Cam.

Single Plane intake, Holley 750

5 Speed T-5 Transmission, racing clutch

The drivetrain was pretty mild, looking back I'd guess around 500 hp. I sold the car just a few months after finishing before I got married (first one, lol) boy what a mistake!

The plan was to swap out a different engine... I'd actually considered a SB Chevy. But it never happened.

The guy who bought it ran it like it is above and ran IIRC, maybe 11.75-ish.

I actually drove it around town a bit (maybe 4 or 5 trips of 5-6 miles) down to the local speed shop, etc... on open dumps, lol...

I wish I knew what happened to the car...
