escalade suspension problems

have a 2003 escalade awd and I am getting the message service ride control.. anyone know what that cause of that would be, and what is the needed repair? thanks

Most likely your compressor is going. Pretty common on the air suspensions. Some replace them, others change out the airbags for regular shocks/struts.

do you know if changing them out to reg. shocks/struts changes the ride much? As it is right now, the suspension is sloppy.. my rover sport is so much tighter..

it has 100k miles on it.. its a work suv

The suggestion that it might need a pump could be correct. The vehicle itself needs a major service, including a tune up and spark plugs (first time it should have needed them) at 100K. I would be more inclined that it just needs servviced due to the 100K.
The air ride is part of the stabilitrac system. Not sure if you can disable it without causing other troubles.

Many guys on Cadillac forum have swapped out shocks, might wanna try on there. I don't go on there much since I sold my V.
