My year with my LPE 650 Twin Turbo

Well, it's been a year.

The car has been a great daily driver.

Maintenance:
Four oil changes
Flushed the brake system
Two sets of NGK TR6 plugs

Mods since purchase.

HP Tuners w/ 2 Bar operating system
2.5 Bar map sensor
Converted to E85
LC1 wideband
AVCR boost controller
830cc injectors
Added two more in tank walbro 255's
LS7 clutch and flywheel

Aside from oil changes, a brake fluid swap, insurance and gas, the only major thing to crap out on me was the clutch.

Previous owner stuck a centerforce garbage clutch in it, and it let go when I swapped over to E85.

8psi on the Lingenfelter tune previously made 540hp, 520ft/lbs TQ at the wheels

8psi on E85 with my tune and 27 degrees of timing now makes 637hp, and 622ft/lbs TQ at the wheels on the same dyno. While running out of fuel pump at 5000rpm

Which is why I am running three walbro 255's now.

Tonight I readjusted the tune, and ran 10 psi for the first time to 6200RPM.

Mother of god. It is SOOOO much faster than when it was on 8psi.

I am confident the car is now making well north of 700 at the ground. It's just ungodly fast.I'm gonna redyno, but I want to get 14psi rolling out of these turbos and have the tune dialed before I do. Even on E85, I'm still getting 17 around town, and 23 on the freeway.

I've been experimenting with 14 gallons of E85, and 5 gallons of 87 octane lately, and fuel mileage is significantly better, looks like I might fall in around 19 around town this tank. No highway results yet.

Best daily driver EVER.

Good to hear about positive experiences from tuners as it seems people only give credit to them for track times.

I know exactly what you mean.

I fell in love with the LPE 650 when I was in High School.

Little did I know that 10 years later I would own one of the exact same cars I saw in that magazine article. The car even came with a copy of the Magazine. Car #004 only had 12,000 miles on odometer when I picked it up off of ebay on a whiskey soaked evening. It's up to 27,000 now a year later. A lot of my friends are pissed I'm putting so many miles on the car (includes a San Fransisco, California to Panama City Beach, Florida trip) but I bought it to drive it. lol
