I am not sure of this has been posted already. The new 2016 Ford GT is looking really good.
I love the styling. But I question the decision of going with a TwinTurbo V6 EcoBoost. While it will make enough power at around 600HP, a exotic supercar needs to sound good and I don't see that happening with a turbo V6
I think it looks amazing. Everyone is getting hung up on Ford calling the engine EcoBoost. It's not a truck motor with the boost turned up, they have been racing with a TT 3.5L V6 for years in a Daytona Prototype. They want to call it that for brand recognition, end of story. I doubt Ford will claim an awesome mpg number in a supercar.

I disagree. I think the performance will be right there, if not surpass them. According to the early information I've read, the new GT is going to have the best power/weight ratio ever achieved in a car (remember, I'm just quoting what I've read). Given that most of the body and chassis are carbon fiber and aluminum, I think that 600 hp will surprise a lot of people.
Also, keep in mind, Ford intends to RACE the new GT...as soon as this year!! The goal of this car wasn't to be the next street drag race king, it's to continue a pretty impressive pedigree of the original GT-40.
What a car, my goodness.
Kudos to Ford. The third time the do it with the same car.
V6TT sounds as good as my modified 911TT. There are a couple of clips on Youtube.
I hope they price it below $300k and produce as many as possible.
I can only compare its looks with Aventador's south of $1M cars.
Let's see what GM brings to the fight (mid-engine ZR1).
Styling: A Frankenstien amalgam of Ferrari LaFerrari, 458 Speciale, 599, Lamborghini Garado, Aventador and Porsche 918 Spyder. All beautiful cars. Just not in a mash-up. As for the interior styling, well, Battlestar Galactica comes to mind.
Power: On its face 600 bhp seems woefully underpowered when compared to other super/hyper cars. I would like to see some actual lap times at the Ring and other places before passing final judgement.
Price: I hope it is well south of $200,000. I just can't image spending more than that given the other options available at that price point.
This will not be a production car , the 911 TT and GTR still are tops.
It is a real race car with all the right stuff and less weight.
But, current Ford-GT are selling at auction in the 400,000 range . Ford said years ago this will be the only Ford GT we ever build again ??????????
HOW HAPPY IS SOMEONE WHO JUST PAID $400,000 for an 05 GT ????????
When and if they sell street versions, just another garage queen .
Why are you saying its not a production car? I think it will be just like the previous GT. The model seen is a street car. Most likely lower volumes than the 911 and GTR though.
We will have to see what Ford says in the coming year.
A-this is clearly a production car as it lacks the aero package you will see on the LeMans version. B-the car is built with a TTV6 because the LeMans car will be this spec. C-It will cost mid $200's at least, and compete easily with 458 Speciale (also 600 HP, but with less TQ being a NA V8), and sit in many a garage next to an Aventador (people with this kind of car budget will buy both). The GT3 isn't in the same category as this car, which is clearly a 'Supercar' but not in the same category as LaFerrari or 918 which are 'Hypercars'. You won't see many GT's at the track. Its a Halo show car built to support the race effort. If you have been following the news, Ford is 'all in' for LeMans in 2016. Team in place, motor good, car in development. Just my 2c.

Don't worry about these guys...they'll get $500-600 in 5 years.
Just like:
F40...F50...Enzo...LaFerrari
959...CarreraGT....918
GT40....GT....NewGT
Skyline...GTR
I can go on...
