I agree though that they will probably not release it for this generation but I am pretty sure it will come with the soon to be released re-design of the CTS. I don't do automatics either so I can understand your feelings for an E55 but that torque makes up for it! If you have other manual vehicles available to you I think an E55 would do nicely as a daily.

tighten up the rear to make it stiffer

That's what i've been doing to my GTO. All this said, I looked at used CTS-V's as well as the GTO, and went w/ the GTO. Wheel hop doesn't really bother me as I don't launch the car hard.
