I have secured the Caddo Mills Airport for Sunday, April 27th. The basic format would be a one-day "roll-on" side by side "performance exhibition". All participating cars must be streetcars, fitted with a true street radial...including fully DOT for highway use, drag radials. No wannabe trailered streetcars. If your car can't be driven from wherever, I don't consider it a streetcar. The four classes proposed are....

500hp and less
500-750hp
750-1000hp
1000hp+

Participants will be pre-screened and placed in the appropriate class. The cost will be $200/each. At least 1/2 of the excess proceeds will go to a local charity. This event is NOT FOR PROFIT, and pay-outs will be made if possible.

The "roll-on" distance will be approx. 1/4 mile, giving plenty of room for a streetcar to shut-down.

So just because there will be insanely fast streetcars at this event, the badboy P-cars, BMW's, etc don't want to play? C'mon now, there's a HP class for everyone.

Im in for one car for sure. Might even be in for 2 cars if I can get someone to drive the other car there. Neither of my cars are fast; just wanna make comparison runs with maybe a chipped 997tt, a Murcie (dario better come), etc. Let me know if you need an advanced deposit.

was the last one only a 1/4 mile? though it was close to half a mile?

 

It was almost half a mile. But the high HP cars did not have enough brake room.

 

I'm in for at least spectating, if not driving. When you say roll-on, what's the start speed?

 

if its only a 1/4 mile why not just go to a drag strip and do roll-ons there?

 

Last time it was 30 roll on. For pcars this is not fair and really sucks but the airport does not want rubber all over the runway

 

I don't know what to say to that. I was driving a car with 3 times the power of your AWD P-car...and my throttle control ability was just fine. As far as the run length, it will be at least 1320 ft. If you could hit 160mph+ in a rolling 1/4 mile, then you would understand. Keep in mind, the majority of the cars that have RSVP'd have at least 500rwhp.
