Looking for a new(to me) road bike

If anyone out there is looking to sell off a road bike, I am interested. I have been looking for a used bike as I do not need to go all out on my first purchase because I realize I may not get into riding as big time as I think I will.

I have been looking at the Specialized Sequoia, and a few others like trek and jamis. I am looking for an entry level bike that is stock or gently used more serious mount that is a few years old and priced right. Would like to spend about 600 plus what ever shipping I run into.

Thanks for your time,
Wilson

What size are you looking for? If you don't know, height and inseam (or some sense for how long your legs are relative to your height) are helpful.

I am a complete noob, but the frame size I believe fits me the best is 52" (Specialized's Medium). I am 5'8" and 190 pounds who should be at 165. Hence the need for a work out plan I will keep at. I have 30" inseam and the length of my legs are porporational to my body. No long torso or anything like that.

Thank you,
Wilson

My bikes are larger than what you need. The sizing, by the way, is metric so you are looking at a 52cm. All manufacturers have different sizing conventions so if the Specialized 52 fits you well, be sure to look for a bike that has the same "effective top tube length" as the Specialized 52, which is probably 53 or 54. That's the most important part of fitting a road bike. You can always adjust the seat height but the length is harder to adjust. You can find dimensions for most bikes on websites usually under "geometry".

Finally, I would say that you are doing the right thing by looking at used. You can't get much for 600 new, especially if you are used to driving nice cars! GL and I am always looking at bikes so if I see something appropriate, I will PM you. It's a great sport and you will probably get addicted to it like I did.
