Oil Change Special/Champain fixes
Oil Change Special/Campaign fixes
Recieved an email from Porsche of Stevens Creek for an $89.00 oil/filter change. What a deal.......since I was there I asked them to do the recalls I heard from the forum e.g. turbo vein lubrications and any other.
Here's what I learned...........
- Oil/filter change a deal even though I had 3300 miles
- Service said I had to come back for 1 year inspection, they would minus the normal $169 oil/filter change. 1 year inspection should be just under $300 bucks.
- They over filled the oil and I had to go back to have them remove some oil from crankcase. They allowed me back in the service bay and explained why it overfilled. Apparently, they cannot drain all the old oil from the front oil coolers so they have to guess when they refill but usually get to 1/10th of it overfilled. Not really a problem, but they fixed it and gave me a bottle of Mobil 1 to take home when I need it in ~2k miles.
- They have about half dozen lifts, but I noticed they had to jack up the rear first to fit the lift arms under the sides of the car to get the car on the lift. This is only a problem with GT2, GT3 and Turbo's, mine is also lowered.
- Apparently there are two campaign recalls 1) turbo vein lubrication, 2) freon check if correctly filled by the factory.
- They scrapped my front spoiler pretty bad so I sanded it down, but I'll complain next time I see them.
- They found my driver mirror had spots when dimmed and ordered a new one under warranty.
- Overall pretty good service for just $100 bucks with tax.
